Le forme della moda, published by Il Mulino

Creation, business, culture, communication: they are among the constitutive dimensions of fashion, which explain its character in perpetual transformation. If on the one hand it must adapt to the needs of the global market, on the other it must preserve those qualities and imaginations that make each piece extraordinary and desirable. This book restores the complexity of the contemporary fashion system: from its relationship with time to its role in redefining gender and identity; from the global trajectories of luxury to new forms of democratization of dress; from emerging professions to fashion understood as a cultural and industrial system in which marketing, publishing, curating, museum intertwine.

Maria Luisa Frisa. Critic and curator, she is Full Professor at IUAV University of Venice, where she is Director of the BA Program in Fashion Design and Multimedia Arts. Her lastest book: Le forme della moda (Il Mulino, 2015). She also edited Desire and Discipline: Designing Fashion at Iuav (Marsilio, 2016). Among her latest projects: the exhibition and the book Bellissima.
